NASCAR: Chase Briscoe nets Toyota its first-ever Daytona 500 pole

Toyota has its first pole place for the Daytona 500.

Chase Briscoe posted the quickest lap in each rounds of qualifying Wednesday evening and can begin first in Sunday’s Daytona 500. Briscoe’s lap of 49.249 seconds and 182.745 MPH was quicker than Austin Cindric and Ryan Preece within the all-important second spherical.

Briscoe will begin first within the first Duel qualifying race on Thursday whereas Cindric will begin first within the second Duel.

Briscoe acquired Toyota’s first pole for the five hundred in what will likely be his first factors race for the producer.
